Richard Paul Evans

Richard Paul Evans ( born October 11, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah) is an American writer.

Life

Richard Paul Evans attended Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City. After graduating in 1984 with a bachelor's degree at the University of Utah, he worked at an advertising agency. In the early 1990s he wrote a Christmas story, for which he, however, was neither a publisher nor a literary agent for his daughter. He published in 1993 the story as a book under the title The Christmas Box, self-published and it became a regional bestseller. Then he drove it himself nationally and after a year it was at # 2 on the New York Times bestseller list. Subsequently, several large publishers were aware of him, and the book rights went to a bidding war for 4.2 million U.S. dollars to Simon & Schuster. In 1995 the book was published in hardcover, the eponymous television film broadcast The call of the angel and in 1996 the book was published under the title The wondrous casket in Germany.
