Richard Price (writer)

Richard Price ( born October 12, 1949 in New York City ) is an American author and screenwriter. He is also active as an actor in small roles and produced films with.

Life and work

Price grew up as the child of a Jewish middle-class family on a council estate in the Bronx, graduated from Cornell University, and later at Columbia University in New York. In 1974 he published his first novel, The Wanderers, since then followed by seven more. Price was celebrated from the beginning for his realistic dialogues, so that Hollywood early became aware of him, where he regularly since 1986 screenplays - mainly for police thriller and realistic films - writes. His stories and essays appeared in the New York Times, Esquire Magazine, New Yorker, the Village Voice and Rolling Stone.

He lives with his family in New York.
