Richard R. Arnold

Richard Robert " Ricky" Arnold II (* November 26, 1963 in Cheverly, Maryland, USA) is an American astronaut.
After training as a teacher Arnold worked at various American international schools around the globe, such as in Casablanca (Morocco ), Riyadh ( Saudi Arabia), Kuala Kencana ( Indonesia) and Bucharest ( Romania).
In this capacity as a teacher, he was selected in May 2004 as an astronaut candidate. As a member of the Educator Astronaut Program NASA, it is his duty to bring the value of space exploration with the classroom in conjunction and so to inspire a new generation of researchers.
In August 2007 he was a member of the crew of the NEEMO - 13 mission, an undersea research habitat for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ( NOAA) off the coast of Florida, where he worked for 10 days.
In October 2007, he was assigned to the space mission STS -119. In this space shuttle mission, the last solar cell element of the ISS was launched into space. The launch took place on March 15, 2009. The STS -119 mission was on 28 March 2009 with the landing at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to a successful end.
In the period from 20 to 26 October 2011, he was with Michael Landon Gernhardt and Stanley Glen Love in the Moon & asteroid landing simulation of underwater NEEMO mission - 15th
