Richard Riehle

Richard Riehle ( born May 12, 1948 in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin ) is an American actor.

Life

Riehle attended the University of Notre Dame, where he appeared among others in student performances of Antigone and Romeo and Juliet. After completing his bachelor's degree in 1970, he traveled to Europe and learned in Salzburg and Innsbruck the German language. After further studies at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Rochester, he played at the Meadow Brook Theatre in Michigan. In 1976 he moved to the U.S. west coast and came after his feature film debut in Joyride on the side of Robert Carradine and Melanie Griffith at the Screen Actors Guild. His film career however, should come first over a decade later in transition. In the meantime, Riehle played theater and had his debut on Broadway in 1986.

As of 1989, Riehle received increased film and television roles; he starred alongside Michael Douglas in the thriller Black Rain and with Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington in Glory, and had guest roles on Falcon Crest and The Golden Girls. A larger supporting role he played in 1992 at the site of Meg Ryan and Alec Baldwin in the film comedy Body Switch. In the 1990s, he had a supporting role in a series of blockbusters such as The Fugitive, Free Willy - call of freedom and Lethal Weapon 4 - Two professionals clean up. Since the early 2000s he played increasingly in smaller film and television productions and in 2007 had a recurring guest role on the soap opera Young and the Restless.
