Richard Seeber

Richard Seeber ( born January 15, 1962 in Innsbruck) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP) and Member of the European Parliament.

Biography

Richard Seeber attended from 1972 to 1980, the Federal Real Gymnasium in Imst, Tyrol, where he graduated from the Natural Sciences branch.

In 1980 he took up the study of law at the University of Innsbruck. On June 30, 1984 he became a Doctor of Law. At the same time, he was enrolled at the University of Innsbruck for the study of economics, he rer 1988 with a Mag. soc. oec. completed. At the university he attended numerous courses, including English and French.

1985-1989 he worked as a cruise director on Romanian and Bulgarian Danube cruise ships. During this period he also worked as a tour guide for Romania and for trips to the Black Sea coast. 1987 to early 1989, graduated from Richard Seeber 13 months legal practice at the district court in Imst and the Innsbruck Regional Court. In 1990, he was a trainee lawyer.

In 1991 he started his career at the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce in the section "Tourism " on. 1992 to 1995 he was appointed the first director of the newly established European Department of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce. During these years he built a ladder to the Europe Unit and was instrumental in the conversion of this forum in the " Euro Info Centre of the EU " in the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce with. In 1995, he became the first head of the new Liaison Office of the European Region of Tyrol in the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. Furthermore, as Chairman of the Christian Democratic European Forum he was CDEF - a think tank in Brussels 1999 - elected. He holds this position until today.

In the European elections in June 2004, Richard Seeber was elected Members of the European Parliament, the European People 's Party and European Democrats ( EPP- ED). During the first term he was a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, and substitute member of the Committee on Regional Development. In 2005, he acted for the European People's Party as a rapporteur for bathing water. In 2007, he was employed by the European Parliament rapporteur for high water or in 2008 for water scarcity and drought. In the period of 2004-2009 he was also a member of the Petitions Committee, the Delegation to the EU-Russia and the Delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.

In the European elections on June 7, 2009 Richard Seeber was re-elected as Members of the European Parliament, the European People's Party (EPP ). Immediately afterwards, he was also (EPP ) elected by the European People's Party to the party coordinator for the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. He is also in the current seventh legislature of the European Parliament Member of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe - Latin America and the Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America. He also is a substitute member of the Committee on Regional Development and the Delegation of the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

The working focus of Richard Seeber is primarily on the topic of water. In January 2010, he founded the first Intergroup water in the European Parliament. This international group in which he acts as President, is a broad platform for a number of Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the EU Commission as well as representatives from industry, environmental protection and regional development policy.

Other focal points of his work are: climate change, air quality and mountain areas.

Seeber is married and has four children.
