Richard Tarnas

Richard Tarnas ( born February 21, 1950 in Geneva, Switzerland ) is Professor of philosophy and psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and head of the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness. At the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, he teaches clinical psychology and depth psychology.

Career

Tarnas completed his studies in 1972 from Harvard. He received his doctorate in 1976 at Saybrook Institute. It deals with, among others, the relationships between psychology and astrology. His book idea and passion: The paths of Western thought, in which he dealt with the development of the Western world view, was a bestseller. It was created by Dietrich Schwanitz in his book Education. Everything you need to know recommended under the heading " books for further reading " for further reading and depression ( p. 519).
