Richard Wallace (scientist)

Richard S. Wallace ( born 1960 in Portland, Maine) is the CEO and co-founder of ALICE ( Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity ).

Wallace received his degree in computer science in 1989 at Carnegie Mellon University. He now lives in San Francisco.

Wallace suffers from bipolar disorder. In the early 1990s, he was released by the New York University, he himself sees his illness as a reason for dismissal.

Wallace won the 2000, 2001 and 2004 with A.L.I.C.E. the bronze medal of the Loebner Prize.
