Richland Township is one of 16 townships of Belmont County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in the year 2000 13.571 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Richland Township is located in the central north -east of Belmont County in eastern Ohio, is in the east about 10 km from the Ohio River, which separates at this point Ohio from West Virginia, and borders clockwise to the townships: Wheeling Township, Colerain Township, Pease Township, Township Pulteney, Mead Township, Smith Township, Goshen Township and Union Township.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
