Richmond, New Zealand

Richmond is a city on the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the District Council of Tasman. It is located 13 km south of Nelson, near the south end of Tasman Bay. At the 2006 census Richmond had over 14,000 permanent residents. 2001, there were 12,912. The city is located on State Highway 6, branching from the Richmond State Highway 60, and is particularly popular with commuters to Nelson.
