Richmond Park

Richmond Park, with an area of 10 km ², the largest of the Royal Parks in London. It is located in the borough of Richmond upon Thames and Kingston upon Thames in southwest London.

Originally, the Richmond Park deer hunting ground of King Edward I., today it is the largest walled park in Europe in an urban area. Main attractions are a herd of 650 fallow deer and red deer, running in the park around freely, and the Isabella Plantation, an area with numerous rare plant species. In the northwest of the park is the hill King Henry VIII 's Mound, from where you have free outlook to 16 km from Saint Paul's Cathedral. Richmond Park is known as " area of ​​great scientific interest ", classified as a nature reserve and a protected area for stag beetles.

Several roads traverse the park; however, these may be used only in daylight and with a top speed of 20 mph (32 km / h). The entire park is surrounded by a high wall, which has several goals. Among the buildings in the Park include the White Lodge, once a hunting lodge for King George II and now home to the Royal Ballet School.
