Richmond RiverDogs

The Richmond RiverDogs were an American ice hockey team from Richmond, Virginia. The team played from 2003 to 2006 in the United Hockey League.

History

The team was founded in 2003 as a franchise of the United Hockey League. In its premiere season, the Richmond RiverDogs were in the regular season first in the Eastern Division before it in the following playoffs for the Colonial Cup in the first round with 1:3 wins in the best-of -five series on the eventual finalists Elmira Jackals failed. In the following two years, the team missed the playoffs in each case.

Following the 2005/ 06 season, the franchise was to Chicago, Illinois, resettled, where it subsequently participated under the name Chicago Hounds at play operation of the United Hockey League.
