Rick Adduono

Rick Norman Adduono ( born January 25, 1955 in Fort William, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player, who works in December 2009 at the Krefeld Penguins as head coach.

Career as a player

The Center Adduono Rick began his professional career in the OHA in 1972 with the St. Catharines Black Hawks. Three years later attracted him the Boston Bruins in the NHL Amateur Draft in a total of 60 site and the San Diego Mariners in a total of 27 post in the WHA Amateur Draft. In the following season, he went straight into the organization of the Boston Bruins, spent most of the season in the AHL farm team, the Rochester Americans.

In 1978, he played the next time in the top division, namely at the Birmingham Bulls of the WHA, the NHL at that time, together with the best league in the world. After the WHA was abolished, he got three more times on NHL ice for the Atlanta Flames.

In the 1980/81 season the links Sagittarius played with the New Haven Nighthawks in the AHL. But between he hired for nine games in Austria and reinforced the Klagenfurt AC. 1981/82 he had his playing career end with Fredericton Express in the AHL.

Coaching career

Rick Adduonos coaching career began at youth level. Between 1990 and 1995 he worked at the Thunder Bay Flyers in U.S. junior hockey area. After a three year hiatus during which he trained in semi-pro leagues, he went in 1998 in the East Coast Hockey League in which he consistently stood until 2007 except for a small pause after the gang.

In his four-year tenure at the South Carolina Stingrays their greatest triumph, winning the Kelly Cup in 2001. Starting in 2004, fell, after two years at the Greensboro Generals moved his team almost a year. In the season 2004/ 05 he was responsible for the UHL team of Port Huron Beacons.

In 2007, he hired at the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL. A year earlier he was represented in the closest candidate circle, but preferred an offer from the Long Beach Ice Dogs. In his first season in Germany, he was elected together with Karel Lang ( EV Duisburg) Coach of the DEL All-Star Game 2008. He led the Roosters in the table to fifth place and thus to the first play-off participation in the DEL. He was then chosen in Iserlohn coach of the year 2007. After the season he was with the club leadership to agree on a new contract, so that Adduono Iserlohn already left after one season.

On 11 December 2009 Adduono signed a contract with the Krefeld Penguins.
