Rick Girard

Rick Girard ( born May 1, 1974 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a former Canadian- German ice hockey player who last played in the DEL ERC Ingolstadt since 2006 and has the German nationality.

Career

As a junior Rick Girard played for the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL. After good performances there, he was elected the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the second round to 46th place out.

The professional career of the Center began in 1993 with the Vancouver Canucks farm team in Hamilton of the American Hockey League, in the next few years he played for the new AHL farm team, but without creating the Syracuse Crunch, the jump to the NHL. About the Cleveland Lumberjacks came of Canadians 1997 on the Kaufbeurer eagles in the DEL, which he left in the direction of Augsburger Panther after the season. More DEL stations of the left-handed shooters were the Schwenningen Wild Wings (1999/2000), the Munich Barons (2000/ 01 ) and the Frankfurt Lions (2001 to 2003).

Since the season 2006/ 07 Rick Girard played for Adler Mannheim, with whom he won the German Cup and the German Ice Hockey Cup in the first year together. Because of his German passport was acquired in 2006 Girard occupied no more foreigners site. After the 2008/ 09 season, the contract of the attacker in Mannheim was not renewed, he then moved to Ingolstadt.

In July 2012, he finished his career.
