Rick Kehoe

Rick Thomas Kehoe ( born July 15, 1951 in Windsor, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. In the National Hockey League, he coached the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Career

Kehoe played junior hockey in the OHA with the London Knights and the Hamilton Red Wings. He was selected in the NHL Amateur Draft 1971 in the second round than a total of 22 of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He played 32 games 1971/72 at the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League, before he ascended to the Maple Leafs. He led the scoring summary for the Leafs at once in the 1972/73 season with 33 goals to. Kehoe was issued in 1974 for Blaine Stoughton to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he ultimately should end his career. He won in 1980/81, the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, and took part in the 1981 and 1983 All-Star Game the NHL.

In his career, Kehoe played 906 NHL games, scoring 371 goals, 396 assists and totaled 767 points in only 120 penalty minutes. In 39 playoff games, he made 4 goals, 17 assists (21 points) and came up with four penalty minutes. Kehoe 1986 was held this position after the end of his career chief scout and assistant coach of the Penguins and had until 2002. In 2002, Kehoe the head coach position of interim coach Herb Brooks, who in turn Ivan Hlinka replaced. Kehoe was 2002-2003 coach of the Penguins and scored a record of 55 wins, 81 defeats and 14 draws. Rick Kehoe was replaced by Ed Olczyk after the 2002/ 03 season.

Kehoe was introduced to the Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Fame and in 1995 into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.
