Rick MacLeish

Rick George MacLeish ( born January 3, 1950 in Cannington, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player ( left wing ), who played from 1970 to 1984 for the Philadelphia Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League.

Career

The 1.80 m wide left winger began his career in the OHA with the Peterborough Petes before he was selected in the NHL Amateur Draft 1970 as the fourth in the first round by the Boston Bruins ( gedrafted ). Before he could complete his first NHL - use, MacLeish joined the Philadelphia Flyers.

From the 1970/71 season he was part of the squad of the Flyers, but in the first two years, he still frequently played in Farm Team at the Oklahoma City Blazers in the CHL and the Richmond Robins of the AHL. In 1974 and 1975 he won with the Flyers to the Stanley Cup and was able to complete in two years, the playoffs as the best scorer. After eleven years with the Flyers, the striker moved to the 1981/82 season with the Hartford Whalers, but after 34 games, he moved again, this time to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The following year he played only six games for the Penguins and also turned up for a game at the EHC Kloten in Switzerland. His last season 1983/84 he began again in Philadelphia, but moved again to the Detroit Red Wings before he finished his career.
