Rick Marotta

Rick Marotta (* 20th century ) is an American drummer and percussionist, who works primarily as a studio and session musician. His brother, Jerry Marotta, is also a well-known drummer and percussionist, among other things, for Peter Gabriel.

Life and career

Rick only began at the age of 19 years with the drums. In the early 1970s he released with the band Brethren two moderately successful albums, for which, however, Dr. John wrote the liner notes and the song "Loop Garoo " contributed.

He appears on many recordings by leading artists such as Aretha Franklin, Carly Simon, Steely Dan, James Taylor, Paul Simon, John Lennon, Hall & Oates, Stevie Nicks, Wynonna, Roy Orbison, Todd Rundgren, Roberta Flack, Peter Frampton, Quincy Jones, Jackson Browne, Waylon Jennings, Randy Newman, Peter Gabriel, Kenny G, The Jacksons, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and many others.

Rick Marotta composed the theme music for the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond. For this, he won seven ASCAP Awards.
