Rick Meagher

Richard Joseph "Rick" Meagher (* November 4, 1953 in Belleville, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, who from 1979 to 1991 for the Montreal Canadiens, Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League played.

Career

As a junior he played for the Boston University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Here he scored in the four years always to the Topscorern and played there together with Vic Stanfield, Dave Silk, and Mike Eruzione. Despite strong performances, however, he did not advance to the attention of NHL scouts and was not drafted.

In the summer of 1977, the Montreal Canadiens him committed as a free agent.
