Rick Muther

Rick Muther ( born August 13, 1935 in Laguna Beach, California, † March 12, 1995 in San Juan, Washington) was an American race car driver.

Rick Muther worked from mid-1960s to mid- 1970s in the U.S. motorsports, but a larger motor sports community remained largely unknown.

Muther drove 1967-1976 regularly in the USAC series. He was one of the pilots who would indeed fill in the fields, but never can place up front. So were the two fifth places, won the race in 1968 and 1972 in Riverside Milwaukee its best finishes in 46 starts.

After all, Muther could qualify three times for the 500 miles of Indianapolis, five times he failed to qualify. He made his debut in 1970, where he achieved his best finish with the eighth. In 1980, he attempted a comeback when he presented Penske a car available, Murther but again failed to qualify hurdle and retired from racing.

Muther died in 1995 from cancer.
