Rick Renzi

Richard George "Rick" Renzi ( born June 11, 1958 in Fort Monmouth, Monmouth County, New Jersey) is an American politician. Between 2003 and 2009 he represented the first electoral district of the state of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

Rick Renzi visited the Buena High School in Sierra Vista ( Arizona). Subsequently, he studied until 1980 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. In 2001 he was still studying at the Catholic University in Washington law. He was admitted to the bar in 2002. In 1989, Rick Renzi founded the insurance company Renzi & Company, which today "Patriot Insurance Agency " means. In 1999, he moved his main residence from Virginia to Arizona. In 2001, he moved into a home in Flagstaff.

Political career

Rick Renzi was a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 2002, he was charged with 49% of the popular vote against George Cordova voted (46%) of the Democratic Party, succeeding Jeff Flake in the U.S. House of Representatives. Flake ran successfully at the same time for the sixth constituency. Two years later, Renzi managed to re- jump in the Congress. This time he reached a share of 59 %, while his Democratic rival candidate Paul Babbitt was able to unite only 36 % of the electorate votes. In 2006, Renzi was elected with 52% of the vote against Ellen Simon in a third term of office.

In his last term in Congress, Rick Renzi came under suspicion of corruption. In February 2008, he was charged with 35 offenses. The process is not yet complete. As a result of the indictment Renzi opted not to run again in 2008.
