Ricky Williams

Errick Lynne " Ricky" Williams, Jr. ( born May 21, 1977 in San Diego, California ) is a former American professional American football player in the position of running backs. He played for eleven years in the National Football League ( NFL) and won the Heisman Trophy in college football.

Minor League Baseball and College Football

From 1995 to 1998 he played for the farm team of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball in the Minor League Baseball. At the University of Texas in Austin, he played college football and he scored 20 NCAA records and won the 1998 Heisman Trophy and the Walter Camp Award.

NFL

In the 1999 NFL Draft the New Orleans Saints gave up their rights to their six players in this year, and the rights to the first and third round of the NFL Draft in 2000, down to select Ricky Williams as the fifth player.

After three seasons, he was traded in 2002 to the Miami Dolphins, where he played two more years. On March 14, 2004, announced that he was tested positive for marijuana in December 2003. This earned him a penalty over U.S. $ 650,000 and a lock for four games. As he repeatedly had drug problems in 2004, he retired shortly before the season starts in August from the game back and studied Ayurveda. The Dolphins then had one of the worst seasons in years.

On 24 July 2005, he officially returned to the Dolphins, where he paid back a portion of his hand money. At a press conference he apologized for having left the team just before the start of the season in the lurch. After Williams was again convicted of drug abuse, he received a one-year suspension for the 2006 season. During this he played for the Toronto Argonauts instead in the Canadian Football League ( CFL).

For the 2007 season, Ricky Willimas returned to the NFL and the Dolphins and played there for three years before he moved to the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. For the Ravens, he managed to now only as a substitute running back as 26th player in NFL history to surpass the 10,000 yards mark.

Willams lives vegetarian and is a supporter of animal rights organization PETA.
