Rico Saccani

Rico Saccani ( born April 16, 1952 in Tucson ) is an American conductor of Italian origin.

After the Herbert von Karajan Competition won the International in Berlin, Saccani has performed with the Berlin and Stuttgart Radio Orchestra, the Royal Danish Philharmonic and the Spoleto Festival. In 1985 he made ​​his debut as an opera conductor with Verdi's Un Giorno di Regno at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona. From 1985 to 2005 he was principal guest conductor of the Hungarian State Opera and from 1996 to 2005 the musical director of the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra. For his services to the Hungarian cultural life in 2005 he was awarded the Order of the Hungarian Legion of Honor.
