Riders Tour

The Riders Tour is a since 2001 been transferred, significant competition in show jumping, the venues are (with a few exceptions in previous years ) in Germany. Successful high over the years was the family tree, which in each case was the series winner in the years 2001 to 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. The field consists mainly of nationally and internationally successful show jumpers from the German-speaking countries, supplemented by a number of internationally successful participants from other European countries. The tournaments are mostly as CSI 4 *, the second- worst category in show jumping tournament advertised.

Title sponsor of the series since 2010 German credit bank, accordingly, the series is officially called the DKB- Riders Tour. Previous title sponsors included the Gold-Zack AG and liechtensteiner bank LGT.

Awarding points and prize money

The scoring is as follows:

After its launch in 2001, the Riders Tour long the most lucrative tournament series was jumping. In 2007, the overall winner of the series was € 250,000 (total endowment Individual results: € 510,000 ) prize. In 2008 it was decided instead to distribute as a prize for the winner and the runners in the overall ranking (high-quality ) material prizes. In return, the prize money per special stage was increased to 150,000 €. With the beginning of the year 2009, this amount dropped to around 100,000 €. After the television broadcast of the Riders Tour checks from the tournament in Münster was moved to the third party programs that took place - with effect from the stage Paderborn - a further reduction to 80,000 €.

The qualification examination

  • The 25 best riders of the FEI World Ranking
  • The top 3 riders of the Riders Tour Final Ranking of the previous year
  • The best 5 of the current Riders Tour rankings, this does not apply to the second station ( Wiesbaden)
  • For Stage 1: The 5 Best Final Ranking of the previous year
  • Additional riders up to a total number of max. 55 riders

The special stage

  • Open to: The 25 best riders in the world rankings, the best 3 riders of the Riders Tour Final Ranking of the previous year and the best 5 of the current Riders Tour rankings. Additionally, up to a total number of more than 40 starters the best riders from the qualifying examination.
  • Testing: As special stage of the Riders Tour the respective main competition counts on Sunday. This is - with the exception of the first stage, the German Jumping Derby - a jumping competition with two rounds.

After completion of the Riders Tour season is the rider with the most points score winner - the Rider of the Year. However, to take account of a rider in the final standings is a start at the Munich Indoors - the last leg of the series - duty. Should there be a tie in the stands when determining the " Rider of the Year " by the end of the last stage of the Riders Tour, the greater number of wins. Team Standings (until 2006)

By 2006 the team standings of the Riders Tour was held as part of the qualification examination for the Grand Prix on Saturday. For the team standings were the results of the three riders of a team who have been nominated for the team competition of the Riders Tour. The nomination was submitted in advance of the tour and could not be changed in retrospect. In the team standings, the error points and the total time of three riders from qualifying was added on Saturday afternoons. The placement was based on the penalty points. At the end of the tour the station was painted with the lowest ranking for each team. Winning the team championship was the team that had the most points at the end of his account. Dressage Riders Tour (2002)

In 2002, in addition to the Riders Tour in jumping has also played a Riders Tour ranking for dressage riders.
