Ridge

A Mountain Ridge (also ridge, Swiss ridge ) is a series of peaks of a mountain range, which are separated only by nicks or mountain saddles from each other, connected together by mountain ridges.

As geomorphological type of comb is a more or less regular intervals from peak to peak current ridge, and one speaks about comb mountains.

The main ridge is called the line of the highest peaks of a mountain range. A main ridge is often a water - and weather divide and often also a political border. From the main ridge laterally sloping ridges are called lateral or side combs.
