The station Ried City Goddelau is next to the city - Ried Wolfskehlen station is one of two railway stations in the South Hessian Ried city. He is a category 4 station It is served by regional trains and S-Bahn.

History

The station was taken on April 15, 1869 under the name Goddelau - Erfelden in operation. He served then as now the two Ried townspeople districts Goddelau and Erfelden. Then on May 29, 1869, the route of Darmstadt Hbf via Goddelau and Biblis to the station rose garden, which was on the opposite side of the Rhine Worms, inaugurated by the Grand Duke of Hesse state premier Reinhard Carl Friedrich von Dalwigk. From there, led from 1870 to 1900 the ferry Worms rose garden over the Rhine. A fixed bridge across the Rhine did not exist back then. This was opened on 1 December 1900.

In October 1879, the route via Mannheim -Waldhof Mannheim was extended into the Neckar city where they ended up ( north of the present Kurpfalzbrücke ) not in Mannheim's main train station, but in Ried Bahnhof. Since November 1879 run through trains from Worms to Frankfurt, since 1880, from Mannheim to Frankfurt.

End of 1970, the two-track section Goddelau - Erfelden -Darmstadt was shut down and disassembled first to Griesheim due to lack of ridership. All that remains is since 1991 a track from Darmstadt to Weiterstadt - Riedbahn ending there in a siding.

As part of the amalgamation of the former municipality Goddelau double - Wolfskehlen in the newly founded city of Ried city railway station Goddelau - Erfelden was renamed on 1 January 1977 in Ried City Goddelau.

Reception building

The station building was built in 1869 as traufständig Typenbau east of the railway line. It is a two-storey sandstone building money with a wide floor frieze and a windowsill. On the ground floor a waiting room and a service room were arranged, separated by a übergiebelten Mittelrisaliten.
