Rif

Tarifit ( proper name Tamazight Tarifit, Spanish: Rifeño ) is a mainly spoken in Morocco Berber language with about 4.5 million speakers ( 2000).

The main distribution area is 3.5 million speakers in Morocco, especially in the Rif coast region. With Taschelhit and Tamazight Tarifit is there the most important Berber language.

Approximately 1 million Tarifit speakers live in Western European countries such as Germany, France, Spain and the Benelux countries ( Moroccan immigrants).
