Rifts (role-playing game)

Rifts is a pen -and- paper role-playing game that combines several genres, was developed in 1990 by Kevin Siembieda and is published by Palladium Books. Rifts is a mixture of science fiction and fantasy role-playing game and plays 300 years after a triggered by a world war apocalypse that has led to the return of magic, Atlantis and invasions by supernatural monsters. Also, horror, westerns and other genres supply elements.

Since the beginning about 250,000 copies of the ledger were sold and brought out more than 60 other books for this system. 2005 was transferred to the Rifts Ultimate Edition a second expanded edition. All products appear only in English, but also have a large fan base in the German-speaking

  • Several novels have been released for the game.
  • For the Nokia N -Gage was a game called Rifts - Promise of Power develops, that was not a great success, however, due to the small number of these gaming console.
  • An experiment with a trading card game failed, and the partner company had to file for bankruptcy.
  • A film project Rifts with Jerry Bruckheimer is in the ( pre-) planning stage since 2004.
