Right-Green People's Party

The Hægri Grænir, Flokkur fólksins ( German: Right - Green People's Party, shortly HG, party, point G ) is a small party in Iceland. The party describes himself as a libertarian and rejects their ideology to that of the U.S. presidential candidate Ron Paul. Current party leader is Guðmundur Franklin Jónsson.

History

The party was founded on 17 June 2010. On initial start of the parliamentary elections of 2013, the party won 1.7 percent of the vote, so they did not get a seat in the national parliament.

Program

In its program, the party depends, inter alia for the following:

  • Abolition of stamp duty
  • New mortgage after the Danish model
  • Preservation of the system of social housing for the future
  • Simplifying the tax system and a simple tax rate of 20 percent on profits, as well as VAT
  • Abolition of customs duties and excise taxes
  • Separation of commercial and investment banking
  • Promotion and strengthening of tourism
  • Liberalization of capital movements
  • Lowering the voting age to 17 years
