Rijssen-Holten

( Listen? / I ) Rijssen - Holten is a municipality in the province of Overijssel in the eastern Netherlands. It consists of the villages Beuseberg, De Borkeld, Dijkerhoek, Espelo, Holten, Holter Berg, Holterbroek, Lichtenberg, Look, Neerdorp and Rijssen.

North of the tourist village of Holten is the extensive nature area Holter Berg ( Natuurpark Salland Hills ), where, for example, from the small station of Holten, can go hiking. Some parts of this region limited access as a habitat of the last black grouse in the Netherlands. In Holten there are several small factories. For tourists, there are several systems with apartments and campsites.

Rijssen is a small town, where old traditions are still alive. Already Lebuin (see: Deventer ) preached here 775 Christianity. Rijssen received its town charter in the early 13th century. Until recently, the older women still wore costumes. Relatively many residents are members of Rijssen very orthodox Calvinist churches. Also in Rijssen there are several small factories. The once important textile industry is no longer relevant. Also to Rijssen there are some woods that are ideal for hiking. For tourists, there is a park with apartments and some camping.
