Rik Van Slycke

Rik Van Slycke ( born February 3, 1963 in Ghent ) is a former Belgian racing cyclist and current sports director.

In 1984, Rik Van Slycke Belgian military champion in the road race. From 1986 to 1999 he was active as a professional racing driver. In 1989 he won the Nokere Koerse and 1992 Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen. In 1995 he also won jointly with Laurenzo Lapage in rail Competition Silver Eagle of Cologne. As a typical Domestik he started five times in the Tour de France as well as other grand tours and classics, but landed only on the rear seats.

After the end of his active career as a cyclist Van Slycke moved to the sporty line of cycling teams. Since 2005, he is one of the sporting director of Team Quick Step - Innergetic ( now called the Omega Pharma- Quick Step).
