Rikugi-en

The Rikugi -en (Japanese六 义 园) or " Rikugi Park" is one of the major shift gardens of the Edo period in Tokyo. He belongs to the " Distinguished sights " ( tokubetsu meisho ) of Japan.

History

Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu (1658-1714) [NB 1], and a close confidant of the fifth shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, was informed of this in the 4th month of the year 1695 in Komagome on the northern edge of Edo, on the road to Nikko, a site on which he a secondary residence and to 1702 docked a change garden. The Park
