Rinat Akhmetov

Rinat Akhmetov Leonidowytsch ( born September 21, 1966 in Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician of Tatar origin. With a fortune estimated at 16 billion U.S. dollars ( 2011) is the richest person Akhmetov Ukraine, he is also regarded as the most influential oligarch of the country.

Life

Akhmetov was born the son of a miner and a saleswoman in Donetsk. He studied at the Donetsk University of Economics in 1995 was co-founder of Dongorbank in Donetsk and rose within a short time at the helm of one of the three major money - clans of Ukraine. Akhmetov is a former professional boxer.
