Rinat Dasayev

Rinat Faisrachmanowitsch Dassajew (Russian Ринат Файзрахманович Дасаев; born July 13, 1957 in Astrakhan, RSFSR, USSR ) is a former Soviet and Russian football player of Tatar origin.

Career

Dassajew was one of the best goalkeepers in the 1980s and was a regular goalkeeper of the Soviet national team at the World Cup 1982 in Spain, Football World Cup in Mexico in 1986 and Football World Cup 1990 in Italy.

His biggest success was the European Football Championship 1988 in Germany. With world-class achievements, he was the guarantor of the entry of the Soviet Union into the final against the Netherlands. There, the keeper of Spartak Moscow with the Sbornaja but lost 0-2 and was powerless in both goals against, but especially when Jahrhunderttor of Marco van Basten. In the same year he was elected as World's Best Goalkeeper of the Year.

At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, he played six games and won at the end of the Soviet national football team the bronze medal.
