Rindal is a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Møre og Romsdal. Rindal is the only municipality in Møre og Romsdal, which has no access to the sea.

The Commune founded in 1857 is to a large extent in Trollheimen.

Geography and transport

Neighboring municipalities of Rindal are (clockwise) Hemne, Orkdal, Meldal, Rennebu, Oppdal and Surnadal.

Most important transport connection is the national route 65, connecting the Rindal with Surnadal and Trondheim. There is also a road to Meldal.

Largest town is Rindal, at the same time also the administrative seat. Other towns are Øvre Rindal, Romundstad, Bolme and Bjørnstad.

Rindal Rural Museum

The Rindal Bygdemuseum consists of 14 old buildings and from 2014 from a ski museum.
