Ring Ring is the debut album by the Swedish pop group ABBA from the year 1973. Using the eponymous song Ring Ring, the group used in the same year at the melody festivals, the Swedish preliminary rounds for the Euro Vision Song Contest, third place. The album was initially released only in Europe, and later in Australia. Just one year after its publication over 500,000 copies had been sold.

Genesis

The recording sessions began officially on September 26, 1972 Rock ' n ' Roll band although earlier this month had I been shooting on Just a Girl and later some of the earlier songs were included on the track list of the album. Publication

Also the recorded already in March 1972 People Need Love was included on the LP. In Sweden, the track list has been placed, the Swedish version of Ring Ring, while the English version was to be found on page two of the album in the first place. In the UK and the U.S., the Swedish version was replaced by She's My Kind of Girl later. At that time, the name " Benny & Björn Agnetha Frida " was specified on the cover yet. With Love Is not Easy ( But It Sure Is Hard Enough ), the last single from the album was in June 1973.

Success

First ring ring reached # 2 on the Swedish album charts in April 1973 and 10th in Norway. In its re-release in Australia in 1976 Album also came in at number 10 in the UK it was released in 1992 on CD.

Due to the success of the album decided the four artists in the future to pursue further projects and collaborate more intensively.

2013 Deluxe Edition

Besides well-known titles such as " He Is Your Brother" and the title song, the new edition of " People Need Love" also includes the first recording of the band. The " Deluxe Edition" of " Ring Ring " documents the first steps of the group.
