Rintje Ritsma

Robert Rintje Ritsma ( born April 13, 1970 in Lemmer ) is a retired Dutch speed skater. With four titles in the all-around world championships, he is one of the most successful skaters in history.

Career

Ritsma won the 1995 in Baselga di Pine his first title in the all-around world championships. 1996 Inzell he defended him. More titles followed in 1999 and 2001 Hamar in Budapest. 1998 and 2003 he won the silver medal and in 1993, 1994 and 2000, the bronze medal.

In the World Single Distance Championships in 1997 Ritsma won gold over 1500 and 5000 meters and 10000 meters silver.

In addition Ritsma was six times more fight European champion (1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000).
