Rio Branco Institute

The Rio Branco Institute (Portuguese: Instituto Rio Branco), founded in 1945, is the Diplomatic Academy of Brazil. Its seat is located in Brasília.

The Institute is named after the deputy and Foreign Minister José Maria da Silva Paranhos, Baron of Rio Branco ( Barao do Rio Branco), who ran the definition and consolidation of the state borders of Brazil at the beginning of the century ( 1902-1912 ). He also contributed extensively in the modernization of the Palácio do Itamaraty, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.

The Rio Branco Institute is training future diplomats in the country. Applicants must pass preliminary examinations in order to undergo further training levels can. The hotel organizes a graduation and construction program with studies in history, politics and foreign policy, economics, law and languages ​​such as English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Arabic.
