The Rio Hondo is an approximately 30 km long tributary of the Los Angeles River in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. It rises in Irwindale and flows Southgate in the Los Angeles River. The largest tributary is the Eaton Wash.

The river flows mostly parallel to the San Gabriel River. Both rivers traverse the Whittier Narrows, a natural tightness in the hills forming the southern end of the San Gabriel Valley. Like the other rivers in the Los Angeles County also flows the Rio Hondo usually in a channel. There are two places where it still flows in natural river bed, are the two parks Peck Road Water Conservation Park and Whittier Narrows Recreation Area.
