Riot (band)

Riot ( engl.: riot, riots ) is an American heavy metal band from New York. They are regarded as pioneers of American Power Metal. Riot founded in 1976 in Brooklyn. The original cast consisted of Guy Speranza († 2003; vocals), guitarist Mark Reale ( † 2012) and Rick Ventura, bassist Cliff " Kip " Leming and drummer Sandy Slavin. Guy Speranza was replaced by the "Fire Down Under " album by Rhett Forrester, with the following three albums were recorded.

Middle of the 1980s Riot broke up, but found in 1987 back together. Over the following years, the line-up changed frequently, so that the " family" of current and former Riot members grew to around 20 people, including drummer Bobby Rondinelli ( Rainbow, Blue Öyster Cult, Black Sabbath ) and Bobby Jarzombek ( Halford, Iced Earth).

After the death of Mark Reale and the departure of Tony Moore, the band with Todd Michael Hall led as a new singer in 2013 under the name Riot V their story.
