Risk (English for " risk " ) is the eighth studio album by the American heavy metal band Megadeth. It was released in August 1999 on Capitol Records. The music on Risk can be defined as Heavy Metal with some influences from hard rock, about the quiet Breadline, Thrash - as Prince of Darkness - and industrial rock, such as at Crush 'Em, describe.

Formation

Before the recordings of Risk to bandleader Dave Mustaine separated by drummer Nick Menza end of 1998, to which the ratio was longer no longer intact, according to Menzas. Mustaine also called Menzas knee surgery, which had an effect on his drumming. Other singles were Breadline and Insomnia. The title of the panel alludes to a statement from Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Megadeth would take more risks musically. Following the band played at the Woodstock Festival in 1999 and then in Europe as the opening act for Iron Maiden. End of the year rose from guitarist Marty Friedman, he was replaced by Al Pitrelli of Savatage. In summer 2000, the band toured with Anthrax and Mötley Crüe.

Reception

Some fans criticized Risk also met with the press on a different echo. Steve Huey of allmusic.com saw the album not too far away from the two predecessors and called the plate therefore named as wrong.
