Ritsem

Ritsem is a mountain station in the northern Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historic province of Lapland.

The station with an old hydroelectric power plant located on Reservoir Akkajaure, directly opposite the Akka massif in the municipality of Gällivare. In Ritsem there is a youth hostel and a used year-round campground. From here can be many hikers take you by boat to the other bank of the Akkajaure. Ritsem is located near the national park Stora Sjöfallet, by hikers on the Padjelantaleden after a day's ride in Kisuris can reach the national park Padjelanta. Together with the Sarek National Park, this region is the largest natural reserve in Europe right corner shows three parks are UNESCO World Heritage Laponian. A popular hiking route is the Padjelantaleden of Ritsem / Anönjalme about Staloluokta to Kvikkjokk, for which one should plan around eleven days. The nearest large towns are Jokkmokk and Gällivare.

Traffic

From Gällivare and Porjus (of Jokkmokk from ) runs seasonal daily bus to Ritsem.

From late June to mid-September operates three times daily (morning, noon and evening) a ferry across the Akkajaure to the Sámi village Änonjalme (morning and evening in addition Vaisaluokta ) and back. The ferry times are coordinated with the bus schedule.
