Ritten Sport ( Ritten - Renon also sports club ) is an ice hockey club from Ritten, South Tyrol, which currently plays in the Elite.A and thus the highest Italian Hockey League. The SV Kaltern is the farm team of Ritten Sport.


The SC Ritten ( Renon SC, Upper Bozen ) was one of the first ice hockey clubs in Italy and took from 1929 to the Italy Cup finals.

In the early 1980s played this club in the third division, Series C, while two other clubs from the Rittner high valley, the HC Unterinn and the WSV Rittner Horn of Klobenstein, participated in the national league.

1984 succeeded the SC Ritten, to win the series C Championship. Then, the three decided Hockey clubs to join forces and joined the present SV Ritten together. In the second year of participation in the B ( 1985/86 season ) Series of SV Ritten won the championship and thus ascended to the first division. To climb team included, among other Mark Stuckey.

In the following two years the club played in the Serie A1. At the end of the 1987/88 season the team led by Steve Smith and Dave Jensen Table were relegated again. The next season of the series B the career of Roland Ramoser who played along with his father Jacob in a team started.

Until the 2000/01 season played rides in the second division before the team promotion to the Serie A1. Roland Ramoser returned at this time back to the SV Ritten. A year later, the re- descent followed into Serie B, before the team 2004 promotion back to the Serie A managed.

In 2004 the first ice hockey team in a game operating company, the Ritten Sport Hockey Amateur Sport GmbH, outsourced.

At the end of the 2005/06 season the team reached the final of the Play-Offs Serie A, where they however lost 0-3 to the HC Milano Vipers. Even in the seasons 2007/ 08 and 2008/ 09 was broke in the final, but lost both times against the HC Bolzano. His first national title the club won the Supercoppa Italiana in 2009. Herein, the HC Bolzano was first conquered in a title fight.

Play their home games of the Ritten Sport from the 1200 -seat arena in Klobenstein, during the playoffs in 2010 was the wave of ice in Bolzano used.
