Ritzau

Ritzaus Bureau I / S (short Ritzau ) is a Danish news agency, which was founded in 1866 by Erik Nikolai Ritzau under the name " Nordisk Central Bureau for Tele Grammer ". It is the largest independent Danish news agency.

Ritzau announced the opening of his agency on January 31, 1866 known publicly. Just one day later printed newspapers from Copenhagen derived from his company News.
