River Usk

It rises in the county of Brecknockshire mittelwalisischen ( Powys ), takes on the Honddu. By the river bridge in Newbridge-on- Usk in South Wales, the river is subject to the tides. It ends six kilometers south of Newport at Uskmouth in the estuary of the Severn.

The River Usk at Newport gave the place its name.

Historical Significance

Was at the mouth of the Usk in Roman times the camp of Legio II Augusta Isca Silurum. In addition, the flow plays a role in the Arthurian legend.
