Rivesaltes

Rivesaltes (in Catalan Ribesaltes ) is a municipality with 8167 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Orientales in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in southwestern France. The community is located approximately 8 km north of Perpignan and 10 km from the Mediterranean Sea. The inhabitants are called Rivesaltais.

Rivesaltes is named for the wine-growing region Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes for. The municipal area wines among the appellations of Côtes du Roussillon and Côtes du Roussillon -Villages are grown beyond.
