Rixensart ( Walloon Ricsinsåt ) is a commune in the French-speaking province of Walloon Brabant in Belgium. It consists of the three districts Genval, Rixensart and Rosières.

Twinning

Since 1974 Rixensart maintains a partnership with the North Rhine- Westphalian town of Winterberg.

Economy

Rixensart is the main production site for the vaccines division of the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. Based on the production site almost all vaccines made by GSK with the suffix " - trix " in the name. Rixensart is also a research and development center for new vaccines from GlaxoSmithKline.
