RMB (Band)
RMB was a rave band from Dusseldorf. The name derives from the initials of Rolf Maier- Bode ( born March 6, 1974 in Berlin), the ( in Tehran born May 26, 1974), the project founded in the early 1990s along with Farid Gharadjedaghi.
History
Even before RMB Maier- Bode produced music. In the years 1992 and 1993 he took the name RMB Trax Trax Music Album for the record label " Adam & Eve " on, in which Farid Gharadjedaghi worked as a manager. About Gharadjedaghi came Maier- Bode to the label ' Le Petit Prince " was also working for the Gharadjedaghi. In 1994, then followed " Low Spirit ", the then most successful techno label in Germany, the first jointly produced single Redemption.
The first album This World Is Yours ( extractions: Redemption, Experience, Love Is An Ocean and Passport To Heaven) was released in 1995 and was likely attributable to the genre Rave, the 1998's second album Widescreen ( extractions: Spring, Reality, Shadows and Break the Silence ), however, consisted mainly of pieces from the field trance. Had two albums in common is that their pieces by rhythmic superimpositions of voices and unusual use of samples that have been arranged with the sounds of classical instruments (panpipe, Streichernsemble, piano), distinguished. Fans will appreciate the wide variety of musical variations: The music ranged from Hardcore Techno ( The Place To Be), techno ( Fighting For A Fine Place), Trance ( Spring, Reality), Happy Hardcore (Experience, Chakka Chakka ) and breakbeat ( No Women No Kids ) towards Ambient ( Anyway, Everything).
After the album widescreen RMB own label " Various Music Recordings" was founded with the sub-labels " Various Silver" and " Various Delight". Then it was a long time silent around the two musicians until they " Polydor Zeitgeist ," the most successful dance labels of Germany at that time, changed in June 2000.
After another year, appeared in 2001 's fourth album Mission Horizon, which broke with the style of previous albums and substantially more influence in the field of House ( Reflections ) contained. Thus developed Maier- Bode and Gharadjedaghi the ambient textures to an important project for the new plant: time wall. For the first time in its history a little band got a German name. It was also striking that in a harmonically simple structure, a variety of sound levels was used. The album Mission Horizon 2.0 was followed in 2002 as a remake of the first version, which took Open Eyes Redemption 2.0 with the 1994 publication contained a single. The accompanying video showed scenes from a short film by Martin Weisz, LA. (60 seconds), which ran in numerous festivals. In 2003, follow the publication of rmb & friends - a tribute to ten years rmb, a compilation of many remixes of previously published titles. And much more artists like Blank & Jones, Ramon Zenker, Westbam, DJ Tomcraft, Talla 2XLC, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Klaus Jankuhn, Sharam Jey participated in these activities.
In the years 2004 and 2005 there were some publications of RMB through its own record label " Silver / Various", but appeared only on vinyl and as an online download. These include the double Singles Feel The Flame / Touch The Sky, Gangster / Killer and April / Beauty Of Simplicity. Evolution, the last album that is stylistically a mixture of trance and breakbeat, appeared no more, as planned, on CD, but was only published as an online download on 1 May 2009.
The group had previously separated according to recent appearances at Nature One and Goliath in 2006. Rolf Maier- Bode and Farid Gharadjedaghi produce solo music since then.
Movie Quotes
Characteristic of many RMB pieces is the use of samples more or less well-known movie quotes, including, inter alia, seven in the song Fighting for a Fine Place, and from Leon the Professional in the song Everything from the album widescreen.
