Road signs in Austria
The image panel of the traffic signs in Austria shows a selection of important in Austria anchored traffic signs. You are in the Road Traffic Act ( Highway Code ) in the section " D. Road traffic sign " regulated in clauses 48 to 54.
In Austria there is no ( official ) number system of road signs and therefore no " traffic sign Catalog " as in Germany. In legal parlance, and therefore it is not customary to name the road signs on a number, but the characters are named by her name. In legal use is almost exclusively the official name by traffic regulations using, in the parlance also shortening or shortening otherwise designations have occasionally naturalized (eg " Nachrangtafel " instead of officially " give priority to "; " stop sign " instead of " stop" ).
Austrian, Swiss and German old traffic signs form persons with classic outline; however, form new German and Dutch traffic signs from people with stick figure outline.
The respective numbers ( as a legal concept ) or numeric -letter combinations correspond within a paragraph a paragraph either an inserted number ( such as " 6a. ") Or a further subdivision of the digit in letters ( such as lit. " A) " ) within the paragraph of the paragraph. The following figures and letters combinations among the illustrations may therefore represent one of the two options. The following designations to traffic signs also do not always correspond to the wording of the Highway Code, in case of doubt, therefore, is this taken into account ( see links).
