Roasso Kumamoto

Roasso Kumamoto ( Japロアッソ 熊本, Roasso Kumamoto ) is a Japanese football club from the Kumamoto Prefecture. The club plays since 2008 in the J. League Division 2

The nickname of the " Roasso " is a combination of the Italian words "rosso " (Eng. red) and " asso " ( ace German ).

History

The club was founded as NTT Kumamoto Soccer Club in 1969. The club achieved promotion to the 1983 Kyushu Regional League.

In 1985 the club was renamed after the privatization of the main sponsor and namesake NTT in NTT Kyushu Soccer Club. After the division of NTT East and West, the club was called from 1999 NTT West Kumamoto Soccer Club.

In 2001, the club reached the first promotion to the third-class Japan Football League and was immediately aft. In 2002, NTT drew back his club ownership and the club took the name Alouette Kumamoto. Naming is the skylark, the symbol of Kumamoto Prefecture. This season the club again rose with a disappointing 17th place from the regional Kyushu league.

In 2005, the club Rosso Kumamoto named after the club color. In the same year managed to rise again in the Japan Football League.

According to the vice championship in JFL 2007 he even managed the climb in the second-class J. League Division 2 after the rise of the club changed its name on 1 January 2008 in its existing form today.
