Rob Davison

Rob Davison ( born May 1, 1980 in St. Catharines, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender, who stands in July 2013 in the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Davison began his career in the Ontario Hockey League with the North Bay Centennials, where he shone above all by its excellent defensive work on the ice. Overall, he played three seasons in North Bay. In his last season he was an assistant captain of the team, he also was voted Best defensive player of the team.

After Davison began his career in the American Hockey League with the Kentucky Thoroughblades, the former farm team of the San Jose Sharks, who had selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 1998 in the fourth round at position 98. After moving the team from Lexington to Cleveland Davison played two more seasons with farm team before he was first appointed after the change of Bryan Marchment to the Colorado Avalanche in March 2003 to the NHL team. In the 2003 /04 season, Davison became a regular fixture on the defensive the Sharks. So it was also in the 2005/06 season, after the Canadians had spent the lockout season 2004/ 05 at the Cardiff Devils in the Elite Ice Hockey League. Due to the huge competition in the defense squad in San Jose Davison came in the 2006/07 season only rarely used and brought it to 22 times. In the 2007 /08 season Davison was only 15 times for the Sharks on the ice and also an interim retraining as a defensive oriented winger brought him no fixed place in the balanced occupied squad, and he end of February 2008 for a seventh- round draft pick to the New York Islanders was transferred. There he was immediately secured a regular place in the defense and was able to score two points in the remaining 19 games of the season.
