Rob Zamuner

Robert Francesco Zamuner ( born September 17, 1969 in Oakville, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player of Italian descent, who during his active career, 1986-2006, among other things for the New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League has as well as the EHC Basel played in the Swiss National League A in the position of left winger.

Career

Zamuner first played at the Oaks Oakville and Guelph Junior B's before he went to 1989 from 1986 at the Guelph Platers in the Ontario Hockey League to the ice. After being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1989 in the third round to 45th by the New York Rangers, he joined in 1989 as soon as possible in the professional sector. There he was between 1989 and 1992 only for the Flint Spirits of the International Hockey League and then for the Binghamton Rangers in the American Hockey League. Since 27 March 2008, Zamuner is in the National Hockey League Players' Association NHLPA hired as a representative of the Northeast Division.

Internationally

Zamuner represented his native Canada at the World Championships in 1997 and 1998 and the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. He won a gold medal with the team at the World Cup 1997. In particular, his qualities as a striker in defense and its good rate in Bully were decisive for the surprising nomination to the Olympic squad.
